The game follows a plot loosely inspired by the film, pitting Mike and Marcus against the ruthless drug kingpin Mendoza. Throughout the levels, you swap between the two leads as they investigate a massive heroin smuggling operation.
Like many movie tie-ins from that decade, Miami Takedown wasn't a technical masterpiece, but it was a genuine effort to encapsulate the spirit of the films. At the end of each mission, you’re graded on your performance. You can go full "bad boy" with maximum destruction or aim for a high "Good Boy" score by using "no-kill" takedowns and precision shooting. (known simply as Bad Boys II in Europe)
While critics at the time were often harsh, calling it a product of its era , fans of the franchise often found a certain "so bad it's good" charm in its execution.
