As the progress bar crawled toward 100%, Leo expected the usual: maybe some old selfies of the drive's previous owner or a forgotten collection of early 2000s boy band fan art. Leo had found it while cleaning out an old hard drive he’d bought at a garage sale. Curiosity, the digital age’s greatest vice, got the better of him. He right-clicked and hit Extract .
One night, Leo decided it was too much. He went to the folder to hit delete. But when he opened CuteBoy2.7z , the boy wasn't sitting in his room anymore. He was standing right up against the "glass" of the monitor, his pixelated face pressed forward, looking desperate.

John, I didn't know Strickland, and never saw him play. I feel like I know him now.
