In this episode, Rory is invited to Sherry’s baby shower in Boston, and she drags a reluctant Lorelai along for support. The shower is hyper-organized and saccharine, pushing Lorelai to her limit as she reflects on her own unplanned pregnancy compared to Sherry’s perfectly planned life. Meanwhile, back in Stars Hollow, Luke and Jess deal with their own tensions, culminating in a town meeting about "town loners."

: Sherry (Christopher’s girlfriend) hosts a lavish shower. Lorelai finds the "perfect" nature of it difficult, leading to a moment of vulnerability where she admits to Rory that she always imagined herself and Christopher might end up together.

The episode title comes from the final act where Lorelai and Rory, fueled by a mixture of boredom and residual annoyance from the shower, decide to "egg" Jess’s car.
