Berkun Oya’s Cici is a dense, multi-generational exploration of a Turkish family grappling with "buried emotions and painful secrets" thirty years after a tragic loss. The film functions as both a domestic drama and a meta-narrative, using the act of filmmaking to dissect how individuals reconstruct their pasts to survive the present.

The story begins in the 1970s on a central Anatolian farm ruled by the stern patriarch, Bekir. Bekir’s authoritarian nature, often captured through his own video camera which he uses "like a weapon," leaves deep scars on his wife, Havva, and their children: Kadir, Saliha, and Yusuf. Decades later, the family reunites at the old farm during the COVID-19 pandemic as Kadir, now a filmmaker, attempts to recreate his childhood on screen.
