The film is the third theatrical adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1903 novel The Jewel of Seven Stars .

The narrative jumps 18 years forward when Margaret (Stephanie Zimbalist) travels to Egypt to meet her father for the first time. It soon becomes clear that Corbeck’s intrusion into the tomb unleashed a malevolent spirit that has possessed his daughter.
