The Wire - | Season 5

The fifth season of The Wire centers on media and institutional failure, with McNulty fabricating a serial killer hoax to fund an investigation into Marlo Stanfield's drug empire, which is covered by a dishonest reporter. While Marlo's crew is eventually arrested, he escapes justice, mirroring the series' theme that while individual players change, the city's corrupt systems remain the same.
