A 17-year-old girl named Ali (played by Leighton Meester ) follows House around, claiming to be in love with him. House eventually uses a fake medical diagnosis of a fungal infection to explain her lack of inhibition and gently push her away using lines from the film Casablanca .

Adam is hospitalized for screaming and coughing. House discovers that the "wavy lines" the boy was drawing in the sand and on a chalkboard were actually a literal representation of raccoon roundworms ( Baylisascaris procyonis ) floating in his eyes. Adam contracted the parasites by eating sand contaminated with animal feces in his backyard sandbox.

Throughout the episode, Dr. Wilson observes parallels between House and his autistic patient, suggesting House might have Asperger's syndrome. Wilson eventually dismisses the theory, telling House he is "just a jerk". Where to Watch

Parallel to the medical case, House engages in a power struggle with Dr. Cuddy. He refuses to use his office because she replaced his blood-stained carpet—from when he was shot—with a new one. He eventually wins, and the original carpet is restored.
